StopCovid France, now called TousAntiCovid, is the app from the French government that aims to keep track of all the COVID-19 infections in the country. As they already do in other European countries such as Switzerland or Italy, Macron's administration has chosen to launch one of these apps that uses Bluetooth technology on users' smartphones to track infections.
The interface of TousAntiCovid is pretty simple and the way it works is similar to other apps like SwissCovid and Immuni. The app will anonymously create an identification for you that will allow the app to find out if you are a carrier of the virus or if you do not have antibodies to the disease. In this case, if you spend a certain amount of time near a person who's infected with COVID-19, you'll later be notified that there's a chance you may have been infected.
If you're given a COVID-19 test and the result is positive, the app will generate another anonymous code which will be used to notify the people you've had recent contact with. This way, the French health authorities intend to keep new transmission sources under control.
By downloading TousAntiCovid for Android, you'll be able to contribute to the detection of new cases of disease transmission in France. In addition, all cross-referencing is done anonymously for the users. This means you don't need to worry about your privacy at any time throughout the process.
